Okay so welcome to Valor's writer's work shop I will add things through out being here to help people be able to write a good lengthy post. For those who have been RPing with me for some time know that my posts can vary from 1000 to 2000 words. Generally resting at a happy medium of 1500. But also this is usually from a computer. On a bad day I can have about 500 words. But this isn't ALL the time.
Some of the things that we will cover in this workshop are:
How to do a good lengthy post (no power playing)
Going over the uses of spell check and why you should use it. (using my phones I have to do this one a lot)
How to get through writers block (Valor's tips and tricks)
Other things that come to mind :)
So we all have the same problems, no matter how good we are at Role Playing, we either get low muse, or we want a good lengthy post with out power playing. Often the second part is hard because face it, we ALL want the other character to do a certain thing, but its not in our control.
One tip for getting a long lengthy post is to write about everything that's going on. If your character is nervous explain what s/he is nervous about. Was there a cute guy or extremely hot girl who walked past your character, causing them to walk into a wall or pole?
Did your character feel a ghost like presence go past? Add that in there.
In stead of saying "What's wrong babe?" Have them say some thing like "What is wrong baby boy." Or "What is wrong baby girl."
Also put random weird things in there. That's my favorite thing to do. See if the other person notices. Maybe have it to were your character needs glasses. Or maybe they took a hallucinogenic drug. If they did maybe they see a purple blue black and pink poko dotted elephant in a Mexican Mariachi band, probably singing La Cucaracha.
That's it for today's workshop if you have something that you'd like me to cover please, please I beg of you post it. I need ideas on what to cover.
